Here in this psalm, David contrasts the two types of Joy. First, we have the Joy of walking with God. The joy of walking with God and his Son Jesus Christ provides a peace beyond understanding. A peace that Adam and Eve shared as they walked through the Garden of Eve naked; yet with the joy and peace of fellowship with God. The joy of this world and it gains are only temporary. One year may have a great year in the stock market and wealth beyond your imagination. But, the wealth has no intrinsic lasting value for your soul. It’s your soul that provides joy and peace and that can only be found with returning to a right relationship God.
