Belief in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ provides you and a chance to repent and turn away from sin. What is sin and why do we need to turn away from sin? Sin is rebellion against God. As we read Psalms 78:40-41 NLT “ 40 Oh, how often they rebelled against him in the wilderness and grieved his heart in that dry wasteland. 41 Again and again they tested God’s patience and provoked the Holy One of Israel.” What did you learn from those verses? 1 min Hmm, That’s good answer sin repeats it self. Sin comes from not trusting and acting on God’s word. When we trust in God’s character, God’s word and God’s actions he leads out of temptation and sin. Next, The consequences of sin. It grieves God, Sin carries us into anger, wrath, indignation and hostility from God and man. Sin carries you away from God and leads to death and separation from God. When we believe in Jesus and turn away from sin. God sends us the Holy Spirit. Today’s Truth: Red Letter words John 6:47 “ I tell you the truth, anyone who believes has eternal life.” (NLT)10. I am the Bread—living Bread!—who came down out of heaven. Anyone who eats this Bread will live—and forever! The Bread that I present to the world so that it can eat and live is myself, this flesh-and-blood self.” (MSG)8
