Below is a map of Jesus last month of Ministry. Jesus set out on his last month of Ministry to heal Lazarus.
The scripture verse comes from John 17:9 (NIV)
9 I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours.
In John 17, Jesus prayer for the disciples takes places in the upper room after Lord’s supper.1 His prayer occurs prior to him moving to the Garden of Gethsemane with his disciples. The night Jesus glorified God and finished the work God had given him. The peril he faced this night is uncomphrenseable. Jesus face the dark night of the soul of the word, the sorrow he faced overwhelmed him to the point of death. As he started his prayers with his disciples in the west bank of Kindron valley and ended his prayer that night in the Garden of Gestheme. Jesus, prays throughout John 17, he opens the prayer to God “Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son so he can give glory back up to you. For you God have given me authority over all the earth’s inhabitants. Dear God you have shown the way to eternal life. And the way to eternal life starts with knowing you the one and only true God. You sent me Jesus said to earth to be the embodiment your word. I glorified you here on earth and finished work you sent me do. Now, my Father who art in Heaven bring me back to you. Back to the glory we knew before the earth began. After Jesus prayed to God he then began to pray for his disciples. He begin talking with God, and said to him, I revealed to you the believers you gave me in this world and most importantly they obeyed your word. I delivered the gift of your word to them. They received the gift of your word now they believe in you. Here my prayer Father who art in Heaven, the prayer is not for the world but for those you have entrusted into my care because they belong to you. For now they know the word you had written on my heart comes from you that I gave to them and they have accepted it. My disciples knew with certainty I came from you Father, and believed it was you who sent me.
