Matthew 14:23 (ASV) 23 And after he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into the mountain apart from his disciples and crowds to pray, he continued to pray into the night. Let’s read the story and you think the above questions. Late afternoon one day, In a small fishing village on a northwest tip of the Sea of Galilee, east of Jordan River, Jesus and his disciples ministered to multitudes and feed over 5000 with 2 fish and twelve loaves of bread. After a hard days work, Jesus sent his disciples across the Sea of Galilee to the town of Gennesaret. After his disciples departed and the crowd dispersed, Jesus went up into the mountain to pray. As night fell a storm came upon the disciples as they crossed the sea of Galilee. The disciples found themselves overwhelmed by the storm as it raged on them until the third watch. Early in the morning, after many hours of prayer Jesus, departed meet his disciples Jesus. Refreshed from his time with God. Jesus walked on water over the Sea of Galilee to meet his disciples. When he found them they were in the midst of a great storm. As he drew closer to the disciples, they looked out into the sea and thought they saw a ghost and cried out in fear. Jesus, quickly called out to them and said take courage it’s I, do not be afraid. Peter responded with a test to the Christ and said if it’s you Lord then command me to walk on the water with you. Jesus said come Peter. Peter heard Jesus call and climbed out of the boat and walked on the water towards Jesus. Suddenly, Peter took his eyes off Jesus and looked at the storm and the waves around him. Quickly, he began to sink into the sea, terrified he called out to Jesus to save him. Jesus, heard Peter’s cry for help and immediately reached and saved him. Jesus said Peter, why did you doubt me, you of little faith. Jesus, climbed into the boat the storm stopped. The disciples immediately worshiped him and proclaimed you are the Son of God.

Prayer is a time to listen and talk to God. In our prayer time with God you will find it a special time in which he provides us strength, insight and wisdom. Prayer is a place where we can bring our deepest most disheartening events to God. He will take the prayer request guide us through the Holy Spirit in them. Jesus prayer prepared encourage his disciple in their hour of need. The disciple battled a strong winds and waves in storm on the sea of Galilee. Jesus walked on water toward his disciples during storm. The disciples lost faith, knew they had see had seen a ghost.
