Let the Little Children Come
Matthew 19: 13 Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them.
14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
One day, parents brought their children to Jesus. The parents came with hope that Jesus would lay his hands on the children and pray for them. But, the disciple scorned and rebuked the parents. Jesus responded back to his disciples with a rebuke. He went on to educate his disciples and said to them “ Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them!” For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to children like these. Jesus, laid his hand on their heads and blessed them before he left. Immediately after he prayed for the little children a man came up to Jesus, and said Rabbi what good things should do so I can enter the kingdom of heaven and have eternal life? Jesus said to the man, Only God is good. “If you want eternal life keep the commandments”. The man asked whatwhat commandments should he keep. Jesus, replied with the following 6 commandments. Thou shall not murder, or commit adultery, or steal, or lie, honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself. The man proudly said I have kept all what am I lacking teacher. Jesus, replied if you want to be perfect go sell your possession and give them to the poor and you will have a treasure in heaven. And come follow me. Now, when the young man heard Jesus answer he countenance fell and he sadly walked away. He was not ready to give up his great wealth. Jesus, said to his disciples, “It’s really difficult for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. He, replied again to his disciples and said it easier for camel to go through the eye for needle that for someone rich to enter “The Kingdom of God” Jesus disciples were shocked at his teaching, they asked him then who can be saved? He responded “It’s impossible for man to be saved, but all things are possible with God. Jesus replied with 6 of the ten commandments.
When Jesus said little one how young was he talking about?
Little one’s when translated from hebrew includes very small children. In fact, Luke shares his the story, he used the word infant. The parents brought their babies and toddlers to Jesus for him to heal them and bless them.

They brought their children who had no power or knowledge of how to get to Jesus. It was the parents act of faith that lead the children to Jesus.
